Care for Washington

Route 57 runs to the clinic

LIVE FULLY NOW Rehab and Wellness is at 106 E Moore St in downtown Hackettstown, reached from Washington along Route 57. Therapeutic massage is offered here as part of a wider clinical toolkit rather than as a standalone service, which means it can be combined with hands-on rehabilitation or needling when your situation calls for more.

Sessions are designed to help your body release built-up tension and restore natural balance. Many clients experience deep relaxation during treatment along with improved mobility and reduced pain.

Where massage alone is not the answer, the clinic can move to myofascial release, which works with the fascia network supporting muscles and movement, or to trigger point therapy for the specific tender knots that refer pain elsewhere. The site publishes a direct comparison of myofascial release and deep tissue massage so the difference between the two is clear.

Dedicated pages exist for these:

What we offer

Therapies available to Washington patients

Everything below is offered at the same Hackettstown clinic and carries its own page on the site.

Therapeutic massage

Available at the Hackettstown clinic as part of the treatment toolkit, so it can be combined with rehabilitation therapies rather than booked in isolation.

Myofascial release

Hands-on work on the fascia network that supports muscles and movement, with a trigger point therapy page beneath it and a published comparison against deep tissue massage.

Acupuncture

Board-certified acupuncture backed by a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, with dedicated pages for acupuncture for sciatica and for digestive health.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is offered at the Hackettstown clinic and has its own page, with a dedicated headache relief page beneath it.

Dry needling

Sterile needles targeting trigger points directly, with a sports injury recovery page alongside for anyone working back toward full activity.

Clinical Pilates

Supports rebuilding strength and control once tissue is ready for loading again, and carries its own page on the site.

Around Washington

Three things that shape a Washington week

Washington sits at a crossroads in a working Warren County landscape, and that geography is what makes the clinic an easy reach.

Route 57 runs to the clinic door

Route 57 covers 21.1 miles through Warren County farmland and ends in Hackettstown, passing through Washington where it crosses Route 31 and following the Pohatcong Creek valley between Pohatcong and Scotts mountains. For Washington patients it is a single road, no highways, straight to the clinic.

A regional centre in farm country

Washington Borough is a regional centre in a rural agricultural landscape, with its Main Street running along Route 57 and Route 31 crossing near the centre of town. It holds both State Planning Commission Center and Highlands Center designations.

The Pohatcong valley

The borough sits among rolling hills with the Pohatcong Mountain ridges extending toward Hackettstown, and the surrounding township landscape remains agricultural. Where outdoor and physical work leaves tissue restricted, massage and fascia work are the usual starting points.

Who treats you

The clinicians at Live Fully Now

Under Blake Schicker’s leadership, the clinic provides innovative, holistic, client-centered care aimed at helping people reclaim their health and live life to its fullest potential.

Blake Schicker, owner and lead therapist

Blake holds board certifications in both OT and Acupuncture, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and extensive training in numerous alternative therapies, built on degrees from Rutgers University, the University of Wisconsin and the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. His own path into the work came through overcoming multiple traumatic injuries, including a fractured spine, a fractured skull and concussion, and a broken arm, wrist and nose, which he turned into a passion for helping others through a rigorous process of self-healing and education. In 2023 he received the Spirit of the Great Sage award for clinical excellence, and he has lectured at Dominican College on craniosacral therapy and myofascial release to master’s-level occupational therapists.

Jennifer Hermans, acupuncture and physical therapy

Jennifer Z. Hermans blends extensive physical therapy experience with acupuncture. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 2003, volunteered for a year as a school counselor in inner-city Catholic grammar schools in Chicago, then returned to New Jersey working with children and adults with developmental disabilities in school and day programme settings. She obtained her Physical Therapy license in 2012 and has since practised in orthopedic physical therapy across multidisciplinary settings, later training as an acupuncturist after experiencing the results firsthand as a patient.

Further therapies at the clinic

Alongside massage and hands-on rehabilitation, several other services are offered, each with its own page.

E-Stim electroacupuncture

Gentle electrical stimulation added to acupuncture needling, with its own page on the site. It is used where standard needling alone is not reaching the problem.

Digestive health acupuncture

A separate strand of the acupuncture practice aimed at digestive complaints rather than musculoskeletal pain, carrying a dedicated page of its own.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

Energy and bodywork options grouped under one section of the site, each with its own page. Reiki is offered for stress relief in a calm, quiet treatment setting.

Therapeutic massage and Clinical Pilates

Therapeutic massage is available at the Hackettstown clinic, and Clinical Pilates supports rebuilding strength and control once tissue is ready. Both have their own pages.

The clinic's approach

Why the name says Rehab and Wellness

The company name reflects a deep commitment to both immediate and holistic well-being. “Live Fully Now” captures a philosophy emphasising the importance of seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, on the view that true wellness goes beyond merely addressing physical or mental health issues and is about living intentionally and embracing every day with purpose. Including “Rehab and Wellness” in the name reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma as well as striving for optimal health. The clinic is dedicated to supporting clients through their healing journeys while also promoting comprehensive well-being, serving people who want immediate relief and people working toward long-term improvement alike. For someone driving up Route 57, the practical upshot is that massage, fascia work, needling and craniosacral therapy all come from the same small team in one place and can be combined inside a single plan.

GENERAL BACKGROUND

General background on these therapies

The following is general information about the therapies named on this page. It is background only, and does not describe any particular treatment plan, protocol or outcome at Live Fully Now Rehab and Wellness.

Therapeutic massage

Therapeutic massage covers manual soft-tissue techniques applied to muscle and connective tissue. Massage therapists are licensed in New Jersey, and the field distinguishes between relaxation-oriented and clinically oriented approaches.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release describes hands-on techniques applied to fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and links muscles throughout the body. Trigger point work addresses localised tender areas within taut bands of muscle.

Clinical Pilates

Pilates is a movement system developed in the twentieth century focusing on controlled, low-load exercise. The term clinical Pilates is generally used when the approach is applied within a rehabilitation setting rather than a fitness class.
