Care for Long Valley

A short drive over the mountain to the Hackettstown clinic

LIVE FULLY NOW Rehab and Wellness sits at 106 E Moore St in downtown Hackettstown, reached from the centre of Long Valley on Route 517. For a township spread across farmland, trail country and the ridge above the South Branch valley, that is one of the closest places to find board-certified acupuncture alongside a full set of hands-on therapies.

The clinic’s name reflects its approach. “Live Fully Now” is about seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, while “Rehab and Wellness” reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma, and striving for optimal health.

Plans here are rarely built on one technique. Acupuncture can sit alongside CranioSacral Therapy or myofascial release within a single course of care, and the clinic also offers Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu as energy and bodywork options.

Sessions are designed to help your body release built-up tension and restore natural balance. Many clients experience deep relaxation during treatment along with improved mobility and reduced pain. The clinic publishes dedicated pages for the following:

What we offer

Therapies available to Long Valley patients

Each therapy below has its own page on the site. Which ones suit you is exactly what the free 15-minute consultation is for.

Acupuncture

Delivered by practitioners holding board certification in acupuncture and a Master’s in Oriental Medicine. Beyond general pain and stress work, the clinic runs dedicated pages for acupuncture for sciatica and for digestive health.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is offered at the Hackettstown clinic and has its own page, with a dedicated headache relief page beneath it.

Myofascial release

Hands-on work on the fascia network that supports muscles and movement, with a separate trigger point therapy page covering the specific tender knots that refer pain elsewhere.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

Reiki is offered for stress relief in a calm, quiet treatment setting, with Tui Na and Shiatsu each carrying their own page under the same section of the site.

Dry needling

Dry needling targets trigger points with sterile needles, and the clinic runs a sports injury recovery page alongside it for anyone working back toward full activity.

Manual lymph drainage

Gentle techniques encouraging lymph flow to help manage swelling, including after surgery, with a further page dedicated to lymphedema management.

Around Long Valley

Three things that shape a Long Valley week

Washington Township is trail country wrapped around farmland, and how people here spend a weekend has a lot to do with what they ask of their bodies.

The Columbia Trail

The Columbia Trail runs 11.3 miles from Long Valley along the South Branch of the Raritan toward High Bridge, carrying the teal-blazed Highlands Trail and connecting with Patriots’ Path. It draws runners, cyclists and walkers all year. For the repetitive-impact niggles that come with regular mileage, the clinic offers dry needling and a dedicated sports injury recovery service.

Schooley's Mountain and its climbs

Trails in Schooley’s Mountain County Park range up to 669 feet of elevation gain, including the rocky Boulder Gorge loop. Steep, uneven ground asks a lot of hips, knees and ankles, and myofascial release addresses the fascia network that supports muscles and movement.

Farm and outdoor work

Long Valley sits in working farmland, and physical outdoor work loads the back and shoulders in ways a gym never does. Acupuncture, trigger point therapy and CranioSacral Therapy can be combined in one plan rather than booked separately.

Who treats you

The clinicians at Live Fully Now

Under Blake Schicker’s leadership, the clinic is dedicated to providing innovative, holistic, client-centered care that empowers individuals to reclaim their health and live life to its fullest potential.

Blake Schicker, owner and lead therapist

Blake’s expertise is rooted in a diverse and robust educational background: multiple degrees from Rutgers University, the University of Wisconsin and the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine, board certifications in both OT and Acupuncture, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and extensive training in numerous alternative therapies. His route into the work was personal, shaped by overcoming multiple traumatic injuries including a fractured spine, a fractured skull and concussion, and a broken arm, wrist and nose. In 2023 he received the Spirit of the Great Sage award for clinical excellence, and he has lectured at Dominican College on craniosacral therapy and myofascial release to master’s-level occupational therapists.

Jennifer Hermans, acupuncture and physical therapy

Jennifer Z. Hermans blends extensive physical therapy experience with a deep passion for acupuncture. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 2003, volunteered for a year as a school counselor in inner-city Catholic grammar schools in Chicago, then returned to New Jersey working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. She trained in Physical Therapy and obtained her license in 2012, practising in orthopedic physical therapy across multidisciplinary settings. Her own experience as an acupuncture patient led her to train as an acupuncturist, and she now integrates both disciplines. Outside work she enjoys reading, hiking, cooking and crocheting.

Also available

Further therapies at the Hackettstown clinic

Alongside acupuncture and hands-on rehabilitation, several other therapies are offered, each with its own page.

E-Stim electroacupuncture

E-Stim adds gentle electrical stimulation to acupuncture needling and carries its own service page, used where standard needling alone is not reaching the problem.

Digestive health acupuncture

A dedicated strand of the acupuncture practice aimed at digestive complaints rather than musculoskeletal pain, with its own page on the site.

Headache relief

Within CranioSacral Therapy the clinic runs a dedicated headache relief page. CST is reported to help relieve symptoms associated with headaches and migraines, and with TMJ syndrome.

Therapeutic massage and Clinical Pilates

Therapeutic massage is available at the Hackettstown clinic, and Clinical Pilates supports the rebuilding side of recovery once tissue is ready. Both have their own pages.

The clinic's approach

Why the name says Rehab and Wellness

The company name reflects a deep commitment to both immediate and holistic well-being. “Live Fully Now” captures a philosophy that emphasises seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, on the view that true wellness goes beyond merely addressing physical or mental health issues and is about living intentionally. Including “Rehab and Wellness” reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma, and striving for optimal health at the same time. In practice that means the clinic supports clients through their healing journeys while also promoting comprehensive well-being, serving both those seeking immediate relief and those after long-term improvement. For Long Valley patients weighing whether to make the drive over Schooley’s Mountain, that combination is the practical difference: acupuncture, CranioSacral Therapy, myofascial release, dry needling, manual lymph drainage and energy work are all available from the same team, in one place, rather than split across separate providers who never speak to each other.
