Care for Netcong

Care for Netcong Borough

LIVE FULLY NOW Rehab and Wellness is at 106 E Moore St in downtown Hackettstown, west of Netcong along Route 46. For a borough of about one square mile, that is an unusually short trip to a clinic offering board-certified acupuncture, energy therapies and hands-on rehabilitation under one roof.

Sessions are designed to help your body release built-up tension and restore natural balance. Many clients experience deep relaxation during treatment along with improved mobility and reduced pain.

Plans here often combine approaches. Acupuncture can sit with Reiki, Tui Na or Shiatsu, or with CranioSacral Therapy and myofascial release, depending on what your evaluation shows.

The clinic publishes dedicated pages for these:

What we offer

Therapies available to Netcong patients

Each service below has its own page on the site, and the free consultation is where the right mix gets worked out.

Acupuncture

Board-certified acupuncture backed by a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, with dedicated pages covering acupuncture for sciatica and for digestive health.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

Grouped under one section of the site with a page each. Reiki is offered for stress relief, delivered in a calm, quiet treatment setting.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is offered at the Hackettstown clinic and has its own page, with a dedicated headache relief page beneath it.

Myofascial release

Hands-on work on the fascia network that supports muscles and movement, with trigger point therapy beneath it and a comparison against deep tissue massage.

Dry needling

Sterile needles targeting trigger points, with a sports injury recovery page alongside for anyone working back toward full activity.

Clinical Pilates

Supports rebuilding strength and control once tissue is ready for loading again, and carries its own page on the site.

Around Netcong

Three things that shape a Netcong week

Netcong is small but sits at a genuine crossroads, and the borough packs a lot into a square mile.

The Netcong train station

Netcong station sits on U.S. Route 46 at Main Street in the middle of the borough and serves the Morristown Line and the Montclair-Boonton Line, with service to Hoboken or to New York City via Midtown Direct transfers. For anyone whose day involves long stretches seated, the clinic publishes a dedicated page on acupuncture for sciatica.

Lake Musconetcong and the shoreline parks

The borough offers Joseph DiRenzo Children’s Park at Dell Avenue and Water Street overlooking Lake Musconetcong, plus Arbolino Park and the state park boat launch on the lake shore. Paddling and shoreline activity load the shoulders unevenly, which is where myofascial release and trigger point therapy come in.

The Growing Stage

The Growing Stage, a professional theatre for young audiences established in 1982, sits on the banks of Lake Musconetcong in the heart of the New Jersey Highlands, drawing families into the borough year-round. For the stress that busy weeks bring, Reiki is offered for stress relief in a calm, quiet setting.

Who treats you

The clinicians at Live Fully Now

Under Blake Schicker’s leadership, the clinic provides innovative, holistic, client-centered care aimed at helping people reclaim their health and live life to its fullest potential.

Blake Schicker, owner and lead therapist

Blake holds board certifications in both OT and Acupuncture, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and extensive training in numerous alternative therapies, built on degrees from Rutgers University, the University of Wisconsin and the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. His journey into the field was deeply personal, shaped by overcoming multiple traumatic injuries including a fractured spine, a fractured skull and concussion, and a broken arm, wrist and nose, which he transformed through self-healing and education into a passion for helping others. In 2023 he was honoured with the Spirit of the Great Sage award for clinical excellence, and he has lectured at Dominican College on craniosacral therapy and myofascial release to master’s-level occupational therapists.

Jennifer Hermans, acupuncture and physical therapy

Jennifer Z. Hermans brings extensive physical therapy experience together with a deep passion for acupuncture. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 2003, spent a year as a volunteer school counselor in inner-city Catholic grammar schools in Chicago, then returned to New Jersey working with children and adults with developmental disabilities in school and day programme settings. She obtained her Physical Therapy license in 2012 and has practised in orthopedic physical therapy across multidisciplinary settings, later training as an acupuncturist after her own results as a patient.

E-Stim electroacupuncture

Gentle electrical stimulation added to acupuncture needling, with its own page on the site. It is used where standard needling alone is not reaching the problem.

Digestive health acupuncture

A separate strand of the acupuncture practice aimed at digestive complaints rather than musculoskeletal pain, carrying a dedicated page of its own.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

Energy and bodywork options grouped under one section of the site, each with its own page. Reiki is offered for stress relief in a calm, quiet treatment setting.

Therapeutic massage and Clinical Pilates

Therapeutic massage is available at the Hackettstown clinic, and Clinical Pilates supports rebuilding strength and control once tissue is ready. Both have their own pages.

The clinic's approach

Why the name says Rehab and Wellness

The company name reflects a deep commitment to both immediate and holistic well-being. “Live Fully Now” captures a philosophy emphasising the importance of seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, on the view that true wellness goes beyond merely addressing physical or mental health issues and is about living intentionally and embracing every day with purpose. Including “Rehab and Wellness” in the name reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma as well as striving for optimal health. The clinic is dedicated to supporting clients through their healing journeys while also promoting comprehensive well-being, serving people who want immediate relief and people working toward long-term improvement alike. For a Netcong resident, the practical upshot is that acupuncture, energy work, fascia therapy and craniosacral therapy all come from the same small team in one locationvia Route 46.

GENERAL BACKGROUND

General background on these therapies

The following is general information about the therapies named on this page. It is background only, and does not describe any particular treatment plan, protocol or outcome at Live Fully Now Rehab and Wellness.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

These are three distinct traditions. Tui Na and Shiatsu are manual bodywork practices from Chinese and Japanese medicine respectively, while Reiki is a Japanese practice involving light or near-body hand positions. They are commonly grouped because none of them use needles.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture originates in traditional East Asian medicine and involves inserting very fine needles at specific points on the body. Electroacupuncture applies a small electrical current to inserted needles. Both are regulated practices performed by licensed practitioners in New Jersey.

Manual therapies

Myofascial release describes hands-on techniques applied to fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and links muscles. CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch manual therapy concerning the membranes and fluid around the brain and spinal cord.
