Care for Hopatcong

Care for the Lake Hopatcong community

LIVE FULLY NOW Rehab and Wellness is at 106 E Moore St in downtown Hackettstown, reached from most of Hopatcong via Route 46 or I-80. That puts board-certified acupuncture and a full set of hands-on therapies within a short drive of the lake communities.

Sessions are designed to help your body release built-up tension and restore natural balance. Many clients experience deep relaxation during treatment along with improved mobility and reduced pain, and every plan begins with a free 15-minute consultation.

Plans here are rarely built on one technique. Acupuncture can be combined with manual lymph drainage, myofascial release or CranioSacral Therapy inside a single course of care, and E-Stim electroacupuncture is available where standard needling is not reaching the problem.

The clinic publishes dedicated pages for these:

What we offer

Therapies available to Hopatcong patients

Every service below has its own page. Which combination suits your situation is what the free consultation is for.

Acupuncture

Delivered by practitioners holding board certification in acupuncture and a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, with dedicated pages for acupuncture for sciatica and for digestive health.

Manual lymph drainage

Gentle techniques that encourage lymph flow and help manage swelling, including after surgery, with a further page dedicated to lymphedema management.

Lymphedema management

A dedicated page beneath manual lymph drainage covering the ongoing management of chronic swelling rather than short-term post-operative recovery alone.

Myofascial release

Hands-on work on the fascia network supporting muscles and movement, with a trigger point therapy page beneath it and a published comparison against deep tissue massage.

Dry needling

Sterile needles targeting trigger points, with a sports injury recovery page alongside for anyone working back toward full activity.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is offered at the Hackettstown clinic and has its own page, with a dedicated headache relief page beneath it.

Around Hopatcong

Three things that shape a Hopatcong week

The borough is built around New Jersey’s largest lake, and that shapes how people here spend their time all year.

New Jersey's largest lake

Lake Hopatcong is the largest lake in New Jersey, spanning roughly 2,500 acres, running nine miles in length with about 45 miles of shoreline, and supporting boating, kayaking, waterskiing and fishing. Repetitive, one-sided paddling and hauling are exactly the kind of load myofascial release and trigger point therapy are used for.

Hopatcong State Park

The state park is the lake’s most striking feature locally, offering swimming, fishing, picnic areas, a boat launch, volleyball and basketball courts, a soccer field and playgrounds. Where an active season leaves an injury that will not settle, dry needling and sports injury recovery are both available.

A year-round lake community

The lake evolved into a year-round residential community, with winter activities including ice fishing, skating and sledding. For recovery after surgery or injury at any point in that calendar, manual lymph drainage helps manage swelling and supports the healing process.

Who treats you

The clinicians at Live Fully Now

Under Blake Schicker’s leadership, the clinic provides innovative, holistic, client-centered care aimed at helping people reclaim their health and live life to its fullest potential.

Blake Schicker, owner and lead therapist

Blake holds board certifications in both OT and Acupuncture, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and extensive training in numerous alternative therapies, built on degrees from Rutgers University, the University of Wisconsin and the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. His route into the field was personal: he overcame multiple traumatic injuries, including a fractured spine, a fractured skull and concussion, and a broken arm, wrist and nose, and turned that process of self-healing and education into a passion for helping others. He was honoured with the Spirit of the Great Sage award in 2023 for clinical excellence and has lectured at Dominican College on craniosacral therapy and myofascial release to master’s-level occupational therapists.

Jennifer Hermans, acupuncture and physical therapy

Jennifer Z. Hermans brings extensive physical therapy experience together with acupuncture. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 2003 and spent a year volunteering as a school counselor in inner-city Catholic grammar schools in Chicago, then returned to New Jersey to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities in school and day programme settings. She obtained her Physical Therapy license in 2012 and has practised in orthopedic physical therapy across multidisciplinary settings since. Her own results as an acupuncture patient led her to train and practise as an acupuncturist.

The clinic's approach

Why the name says Rehab and Wellness

The company name reflects a deep commitment to both immediate and holistic well-being. “Live Fully Now” captures a philosophy emphasising the importance of seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, on the view that true wellness goes beyond merely addressing physical or mental health issues and is about living intentionally and embracing every day with purpose. Including “Rehab and Wellness” in the name reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma as well as striving for optimal health. The clinic is dedicated to supporting clients through their healing journeys while also promoting comprehensive well-being, serving people who want immediate relief and people working toward long-term improvement alike. For anyone driving round the lake, the practical upshot is that acupuncture, lymph drainage, fascia work and craniosacral therapy all come from the same small team in one location and can be combined inside a single plan.

GENERAL BACKGROUND

General background on these therapies

The following is general information about the therapies named on this page. It is background only, and does not describe any particular treatment plan, protocol or outcome at Live Fully Now Rehab and Wellness.

Manual lymph drainage

Manual lymph drainage is a light-pressure manual technique concerning the lymphatic system, the network of vessels and nodes that carries lymph fluid through the body. Lymphedema is the clinical term for persistent swelling caused by impaired lymphatic drainage.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture originates in traditional East Asian medicine and involves inserting very fine needles at specific points on the body. Electroacupuncture applies a small electrical current to inserted needles. Both are regulated practices performed by licensed practitioners in New Jersey.

Manual therapies

Myofascial release describes hands-on techniques applied to fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and links muscles. CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch manual therapy concerning the membranes and fluid around the brain and spinal cord.
