Care for Roxbury

Care for Roxbury at the Hackettstown clinic

LIVE FULLY NOW Rehab and Wellness is at 106 E Moore St in downtown Hackettstown, reached from Succasunna along Route 10 and Route 46 or via I-80. Myofascial release is one of the clinic’s core hands-on services, with a separate trigger point therapy page beneath it and a dedicated page on frozen shoulder.

Sessions are designed to help your body release built-up tension and restore natural balance. Many clients experience deep relaxation during treatment along with improved mobility and reduced pain.

Fascia work rarely travels alone. Myofascial release can be combined with trigger point therapy, dry needling or acupuncture inside one plan, and the clinic publishes a side-by-side comparison of myofascial release and deep tissue massage so you can see how the two differ before choosing.

The clinic runs dedicated pages for these conditions:

What we offer

Therapies available to Roxbury patients

Each service below has its own page. Working out which ones your situation calls for is exactly what the free consultation is for.

Myofascial release

Hands-on therapy addressing the fascia network that supports muscles and movement. The clinic publishes a comparison against deep tissue massage, and a dedicated page on frozen shoulder.

Trigger point therapy

A dedicated page beneath myofascial release, focused on the specific tender knots in muscle that refer pain to other parts of the body.

Dry needling

Sterile needles used to target trigger points directly, with a sports injury recovery page alongside it for anyone working back toward full activity.

Acupuncture

Board-certified acupuncture backed by a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, with dedicated pages covering acupuncture for sciatica and for digestive health.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is offered at the Hackettstown clinic and has its own page, with a dedicated headache relief page beneath it.

Manual lymph drainage

Gentle techniques encouraging lymph flow to help manage swelling, including after surgery, with a further page on lymphedema management.

Around Roxbury

Three things that shape a Roxbury week

Roxbury Township is built around its parks and its lake, and the way people here spend their time shows up in what they bring to a treatment room.

Horseshoe Lake Recreation Complex

The complex in Succasunna surrounds a spring-fed lake with lighted basketball courts, a lighted 90-foot baseball field, a lighted multipurpose turf field, numerous lighted grass fields, a half-mile walking path and a 1.7-mile paved bikeway. For anyone playing or training there regularly, dry needling and sports injury recovery are both available at the clinic.

The West Morris Greenway

A branch of Patriots’ Path, the West Morris Greenway connects with Horseshoe Lake and adds a five-mile path running toward Chester. Consistent walking and running mileage is good for most people, and myofascial release addresses the fascia that supports that movement when it stops feeling easy.

The Ice Age Trail and Black River Pond

Roxbury’s Ice Age Trail is a 1.3-mile hike with steep sections, and the township’s Black River Pond offers a kayak dock with wooded trails linking through to Mine Hill and Randolph. Steep ground and paddling both load the body unevenly, which is where trigger point therapy tends to come in.

Who treats you

The clinicians at Live Fully Now

Under Blake Schicker’s leadership, the clinic provides innovative, holistic, client-centered care aimed at empowering people to reclaim their health and live life to its fullest potential.

Blake Schicker, owner and lead therapist

Blake has lectured on myofascial release and craniosacral therapy as a guest lecturer at Dominican College, presenting to an audience of master’s-level occupational therapists, which is worth knowing if fascia work is what brings you in. His qualifications include board certifications in both OT and Acupuncture, a Master’s in Oriental Medicine, and extensive training in numerous alternative therapies, built on degrees from Rutgers University, the University of Wisconsin and the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. His path into the field was personal, shaped by overcoming multiple traumatic injuries including a fractured spine, a fractured skull and concussion, and a broken arm, wrist and nose. In 2023 he received the Spirit of the Great Sage award for clinical excellence.

Jennifer Hermans, acupuncture and physical therapy

Jennifer Z. Hermans combines extensive physical therapy experience with acupuncture. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in 2003, volunteered for a year as a school counselor in inner-city Catholic grammar schools in Chicago, then returned to New Jersey working with children and adults with developmental disabilities in school and day programme settings. She obtained her Physical Therapy license in 2012 and has since practised in orthopedic physical therapy across multidisciplinary settings. Her own experience as an acupuncture patient prompted the move into acupuncture, and she now integrates both.

Further therapies at the clinic

Beyond fascia and needling work, the clinic offers several other services, each with its own page: E-Stim electroacupuncture, which adds gentle electrical stimulation to acupuncture needling where standard needling is not reaching the problem; digestive health acupuncture, a separate strand aimed at digestive complaints rather than musculoskeletal pain; headache relief, a dedicated page within CranioSacral Therapy, where CST is reported to help relieve symptoms associated with headaches and migraines; Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu, offered as energy and bodywork options with Reiki provided for stress relief in a calm, quiet treatment setting; therapeutic massage at the Hackettstown clinic; and Clinical Pilates, which supports rebuilding strength and control once tissue is ready for it. All of them sit under the same roof and the same team, so a plan can move between them as your situation changes rather than requiring a fresh referral elsewhere.

E-Stim electroacupuncture

Gentle electrical stimulation added to acupuncture needling, carrying its own page on the site and used where standard needling on its own is not reaching the problem.

Headache relief

A dedicated page within CranioSacral Therapy. CST is reported to help relieve symptoms associated with headaches and migraines, chronic pain, and stress and tension-related disorders.

Reiki, Tui Na and Shiatsu

Energy and bodywork options grouped under one section of the site, each with its own page. Reiki is offered for stress relief in a calm, quiet treatment setting.

Lymphedema management

A dedicated page beneath manual lymph drainage, covering the gentle techniques used to encourage lymph flow and help manage ongoing swelling.

GENERAL BACKGROUND

General background on these therapies

The following is general information about the therapies named on this page. It is background only, and does not describe any particular treatment plan, protocol or outcome at Live Fully Now Rehab and Wellness.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release describes hands-on techniques applied to fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and links muscles throughout the body. It is practised by clinicians from several backgrounds, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and massage therapy.

Trigger point work

A trigger point is a localised tender area within a taut band of muscle. It can be addressed manually through sustained pressure, or with a needle, in which case the technique is generally called dry needling.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture originates in traditional East Asian medicine and involves inserting very fine needles at specific points on the body. Electroacupuncture applies a small electrical current to inserted needles. Both are regulated practices performed by licensed practitioners in New Jersey.

The clinic's approach

Why the name says Rehab and Wellness

The company name reflects a deep commitment to both immediate and holistic well-being. “Live Fully Now” captures a philosophy emphasising the importance of seizing the present moment and striving for a life filled with vitality and purpose, on the view that true wellness goes beyond merely addressing physical or mental health issues and is about living intentionally and embracing every day with purpose. Including “Rehab and Wellness” in the name reflects a dual focus: recovering from pain, stress and trauma as well as striving for optimal health. The clinic is dedicated to supporting clients through their healing journeys while also promoting comprehensive well-being, which in practice means it serves people looking for immediate relief and people working toward long-term improvement in the same room. For a Roxbury patient, the useful consequence is that the fascia work, the needling, the craniosacral therapy and the lymph drainage all come from the same small team and can be combined inside a single plan.
